Opifex was previously counted as a rank on TWC, subsequent to an amendment made in July 2007 the award is now regarded as part of the [[:Category:Community Medals|Community Medals]] section of the [[TWC_Official:Constitution|constitution]].

Members of TWC who have been awarded the Opifex medal are currently identified on the forum by wearing the following badge (if they choose to display it in place of other ranks):

The Opifex medal is granted to those who contribute to the [[Total War Center]] forums in an exceptional way - usually for work on modifications for the total war series of games.

*Opifex

To qualify as Opifex, the nominee must meet the following Criteria:

*Served the Total War Center or Total War Community with exceptional input to any of the boards or mods in any capacity other than staff.
*The nominee must be seconded by a member of the Consilium de Civitate before it can go to a vote. Vote shall be refused to any user who fails the criteria for citizenship with regard to warnings and post count.
Qualifying nominees shall be voted upon in the Curia for a period of one week, and a three-fourth majority will be sufficient to decorate a user as an Opifex. A user who passes the vote shall be awarded the rank of Citizen (if the nominee was not one already). A nominee who fails to achieve a three-fourth majority is eligible to be nominated again after a three month period.

The secondary rank – Civitate, Artifex or Patrician is the one that determines where the member has access or the legibility for elections, unless stated differently.

Man with no name is also a project by Martin Freeland who did Acid House, Goa Trance and Psytrance. This could possibly be what this account name is refering to. That is a possibility, but it is wrong.

The series of events which led up to the Sale of the Site detailed in this article lasted from January 16, 2007 until January 20, 2007.

==Causes==

A number of reasons can be attributed to causing this incident. After the [[the Besim Episode]] there was still a lot of resentment from the TWC members towards the owners, [[Ogres Net]]. The members believed ON were out of touch with the community and ON were wary of some members of [[TWC]] trying to [[First Steps|buy the site before]], which they falsely believed was a [[Curia|Curial]] attempt to take over. Those who had attempted to buy the site before still though there was a chance of succeeding and were willing to play upon ON's weaknesses to achieve this, rightly or wrongly. When [[HorseArcher]] unexpectedly resigned [http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=77998] as Head Administrator of [[Total War Center]] the remaining [[Hexagon Council]] were unsure how to react. As highlighted [[Archer's_Plot#The_Triumvirate_Returns|here]] ON wanted a three administrator system ([[Triumvirate]]) back and Hex started voting on who should be the administrators. [[imb39]] sent an email to [[ogre]] on January 14, 2007 to assure him TWC would adapt to this new ON administrative model, he received no reply. This process was abruptly halted however, on January 16, 2007, by the appointment of [[Honor&Glory]] as the only administrator of TWC. Incidentally, Hex had decided upon [[imb39]] as Head of the Site, with [[Fabolous]] as Content Administrator and [[Simetrical]] as Technical Administrator.

[[Honor&Glory]] was appointed Head Administrator of TWC and proceeded to demote all the staff who he believed he could not trust, mainly those who were pro-Curia, anti-ON or had been against him at some time. HG however did not remove the abilities of the staff to ban, moderate and administrate for several hours. The rest resigned within the next 24 hours. Belisarius then controversially removed all the content on the TWC front page, replacing it with V for Vendetta videos. Belisarius was then temporarily banned by Simetrical so no more changes to the content could be made. Aristocrat banned HorseArcher, unbanned all the people who had been banned and resigned.
