&lt;div&gt;Assassins are a unit that have featured in all of the Total War Games to date. They are used to kill of enemy units and rebellious generals. In Medieval Total War they could also be used on your own generals if you felt they were about to rebel.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Assassins gain Valour/Subterfuge throught assassinating victims. Sometimes &#039;&#039;hero&#039;&#039; Assassins are created (Medieval only as far as I know) that already have a lot of valour. It is wise to &#039;&#039;train&#039;&#039; Assassins by making them assassinate Princesses, Emissaries and other agents before trying to assassinate Generals and Faction leaders.&lt;br /&gt;
