Description
Akthross Total War is a fantasy mod for Kingdoms that is based on the book A Tale of Akthross: The Seeker and the Mage. This excellent mod allows you to take part in the classic Good vs Evil fight. Playing as an "evil" faction will give you a completley different perspective of Akthross compared to a "good" faction. As a player of an "evil" faction you will have to capture a settlement known as The Heavens Gate which is at the heart of the "good" factions and protected by a Warden of the Gate. While playing as a "good" faction will require you to stop and drive the invading hordes far enough back to capture the settlements key to them!
there are ten factions (Dynasties,all Similar to Islamic earth culture) which inhabit this island world.
The basic Idea is each one of these Dynasties starts out with their own secluded "Desert" Oasis area & build to where they can expand in Dominion across the Island & eventually conquer (as part of the win conditions) all five of the heavily fortified Rebel Fortresses in the center of the Island

Features
* Twenty Five new buildings made for the Islamic Cultures.
* Lots of new, middle eastern music!
* Most of the loading screens have been replaced to have a more Islamic theme to fir in with the mod more. Also there is new quotes to go with these new loading screens.
* Completlley new user interface!

Factions
The Startpos Mods for Napoleon: Total War began as an idea on transferring in "action" all the knowledge that came out of HuserlTW's research about startpos.esf file and the game's starting position. Two groups of mods are included in this series. First are those that just unlock or activate some in game elements like minor factions, emergent, etc, these include Napoleon Total Factions. The second group includes full mods with some new scenario and ideas, these include the Balkans mod, Iberia mod and Scandanavian mod. More details in the mod thread.
</div>

One of the biggest critiscims of Napoleon Total War has always been a lack of playable factions compared to other games in the Total War series. Thats where Napoleon Total Factions comes in, this mod makes all factions playable(including emergent)in the singleplayer and multiplayer campaigns. This mod comes with it's own installer and launcher to make it an easy click 'n play experience.

The latest version, 3.5 has the following changes:
* No need to update the user.script.
* New updated launcher.
* New campaign for Netherlands & Italy in multiplayer mode.

Balkan mod
Balkans have often been mentioned as the gunpowder deposit of Europe. This strategic crossroad placed between East and West has produced some of the greatest civilizations but also some of the most destructive wars. The 19th century in Balkans is the era of new nations arising and perhaps of the most lethal nationalisms...

Features new units for the following factions:
* Hungary
* Moldavia
* Croatia
* Serbia
* Romania
* Greece
* Ottomans

The Balkan mod also features new loading screens. Visit the official thread here to download the mod or if you want more information.

Iberia mod
The Iberian peninsula has been a place of conflict since Napoleon and his armies have ravaged it, however, these proud nations are ready to rise up and fight against the French war machine. Will you be able to lead these glorious nations to victory? Or will you fall under Napoleon's iron fist?

Features the following factions to be playable:
* Spain
* Basque
* Catalonia
* Portugal

All of these nations have new units, except for Spain since there was already planty from Vanilla.
Foot artillery batteries are the core of an army on campaign: cannons win battles.

Overview
Despite the name, foot artilerry batteries are towed by horses. The arillerymen, however, march alongside their pieces rather than ride. Because the guns can be loaded with round or canister shot they are effective at long and short range: canister shot turns cannons into gigantic fowling pieces. Artillery is slower than the rest of the army and, if left behind and undefended, will be vulnerable to cavarly attacks. Disabling the enemy's guns should always be a high priority for a general, and artillerymen only have the most rudimentary sword skills for their defence.

Historically, by the late eighteenth century, improvements in artillery design had drastically reduced the weight of cannons and their field carriages. Design improvements had reduced the time to get into action from the march. By carefully positioning the barrel in the centre of the gun carriage, the balance, and manoeuvrability of guns was significantly improved. Napoleon was an artilleryman, and his use of guns in concentration against small parts of the enemy battle line persuaded many nations to increase the size of their own artillery corps.
These light troops are ideal for harassing the enemy from a distance.

Overview
Light Foot are an adaption of the standard men of the Line. They use their surrounding to their advantage and can skirmish ahead of the main amry, inflicting casualties before the battle has actually began. This unit is also are much more accurate than other uits of the line because of the extra training they undertake. Despite all of the advantages, Light Foot are still very vulnerable to cavalry due to their inability to form square. They are also ill equipped to fight in a prolonged melee.

Historically, the British army traditionally recruited its riflemen and light troops from German states, but as France expanded into Holland in 1799, Britain was forced to rethink its recruitment strategy as the north German states were no longer quite so accessible. Many of the foreign troops in British service had perished in the West Indies or been drafted into the 60th Royal Americans. With few light troops available, General John Moore established a camp at Shorncliffe, Kent in 1802 for the instruction of light infantry. It took a year before the first unit of line infantry was converted into a British light infantry regiment.
These elite soldiers are an inspiration to others by their example, and dashed handy in a fight to boot!

Overview
These Highlanders field the same equipment as the other units of the line, however, they wear a tartan kilt making them easily recognisable on the battlefield. These highlanders have higher morale than other units andare particulary deadly when charging home a bayonet. Their bravery and courage on the battlefield is unmatched, however, they are vulnerable to sustained artillery fire and cavalry. Historically the 42nd Foot fought with the Duke of Wellington in Spain and most notably in Quatre Bras and Waterloo in 1815.
Armed with a tough, accurate rifled musket, the Rifles are an elite skirmishing force.
Overview
The rifle gives them the ability to kill at astonishing ranges for a flintlock weapon. Their skills and skirmishing tactics allow them to use whatever cover is to hand to hide, stalk the enemy, and then kill them from a distance. Even their uniforms are a subdued colour to help them in their role as hunters and snipers.

They are, however, not invulnerable. Like all skirmishers, they can be cut down by a carefully timed cavalry charge. They will also suffer disproportionate casualties if exposed to a line unit’s firepower.

Historically, the Greenjackets, nicknamed for their dark green uniforms that blended into the landscape, carried an infantry rifle designed by Ezekiel Baker of London. This muzzle-loading flintlock used a small ball in a rifled barrel with superb accuracy. Loading was a slow business, and could take a minute or more to do properly so that a shot would fly true. The result, in the hands of an expert, was deadly. French officers came to dread the presence of the Rifles on a battlefield.
Favoured for their unwavering commitment to duty, these troops are versatile line infantry.

Overview
The Kings German Legion are a line infantry unit in the British army. They are well trained and highly respected troops that can brave the threat of cavalry, skirmishes and other line infantry, however, they are vulnerable to concentrated artillery fire. When deployed on a battlefield they can use various techniques to their advantage such as grappling hooks to scale for walls, chevaux de frise and can hide in woodland to ambush unsuspecting enemies. The Kings German Legion fight with pride in themselves giving them a morale boost over over standard units of the line. Historically, the Kings German Legion fled to the British army after Napoleon conquered hannover. The British soon held the Kings German Legion in high regard due to their exemplary behaviour on the battlefield and in training.
These elite cavalrymen are all gentlemen, skilled in melee attacks and deadly on the charge.

Overview
The Life Guards are an elite cavalry unit in the British Army. They pride themselves on their appearance, to them apperance is as important as fighting ability. Despite this their skills as cavalrymen are fantastic, they have a powerful charge that can punch through even the most stoic of infantry. Like most cavalry units the Life Guards are hot headed and undisciplined compared to oter nations cavalry, particulary the French. Life Guards have the ability to inspire other units around them due to their over confidence. Historically, Life Guards were kept on a tight leash by the Duke of Wellington, he knew how undisciplined they were and their tendency to do suicidal charges.
In times of desperation, the people must defend their homes and loved ones from the monstrous, rapacious attacks of foreigners!

Overview
Armed citizenry are a mob, given whatever guns are to hand, with brief training that the muzzle end is to be pointed towards the foe. Weapons do not make soldiers, and arming the people is an act of desperation. On the battlefield, the citizenry are unlikely to do much to damage an enemy, but the size of the mob can at least cause the foe problems. This can give real soldiers enough time to win the battle, or make the enemy pay heavily for their victory.

Historically, arming the people was something that really scared the authorities in every nation, particularly if the population hated the existing regime. It was not wise to supply an angry population with weapons, when these might be turned on the rulers, rather than foreigners. When Austria decided to create landwehr or militia forces, it was careful to exclude many regions from the decision as the loyalty of Austria’s many different ethnic groups could not always be guaranteed.
Fuliliers are the standard infantry unit of the French Empire. They are the mainstay of your army and are excellent at firing volleys or pushing home a bayonet.

Overview
Fusiliers advance upon the enemy, firing volley after volley before they close with fixed bayonets. Although they are foot soldiers, and lack the dash and élan of cavalry, they take a justifiable pride in their worth in battle. They can form square when threatened by cavalry, and give other enemy infantry a bloody time but they are still vulnerable to shelling by artillery and sniping by skirmishers.

The fusiliers were considered the ordinary soldiers of Napoleon’s army. They enjoyed little of the prestige and privileges showered on the Emperor’s precious guards, his artillery formations, or the light troops. Yet they were vital to his victories: strong, dependable and loyal to Napoleon. They could be counted on to do his marshals’ bidding in almost every circumstance.
Poorly trained and equipped, however, Fencibles are perfect for maintaining public order.

Overview
These men are the soldiers of the Homefront. They were kept from the front line battles, their job was to enforce the law back home.
Fencibles had very limited training and could not be expected to hold the line of battle like other Line Infantry units could. As a result of this, whenever they do find themselves in a battle they run away at the first sight of danger! Despite their numerous flaws fencibles are very efficient at maintaining public order and are the cheapest unit in the game, making them effective cannon fodder.

Historically, Millitia regiments were regarded as second class by the rest of the army. They recieved less benefits the regular army and the officers were known to be amateurish compared with regular army officers. They were proud of their status and thought themselves better then they actually were. During the Napoleonic wars, many citizens volunteered for the Fencibles due to a sense of patriotism. In 1805, when Britain was threatened with a French invasion force, the Fencibles prepared defenses to protect the British isles. While they werent very effective, they gave Britain some protection.
