The Divus medal is arguably the most important and significant award on the site. It is awarded to former administrators of the Total War Center who have served with dedication and dignity. In order to attain this medal, a former administrator has to be supported by three fourths of non abstaining elected members of the Consilium de Civitate. To achieve apotheosis and Curia vote, the nominee must be supported by three fourths of non abstaining elected members of the Consilium de Civitate. The nominee must have served as a Hexagon member (or previous equivalents), made a clear and distinguished contribution to the community and provided exceptional service to TWC in their capacity as an administrator. They cannot be nominated within three months of resigning their Officer Position.

Any Citizen can nominate a former Hexagon member and does so by PMing a Consilium de Civitate member. The Consilium de Civitate will contact the nominee and ask if he or she will accept the nomination. If the nominee should decline, or fails to respond within one month, no further action need be taken and the nomination declared null and void.

If the nominee should accept, the Consilium de Civitate will create a thread within the Consilium de Civitate Forum to investigate the legitimacy of the nominee’s accolades. The Consilium de Civitate has the right to request any and all relevant material from the Staff Officers to ascertain this, with the approval of the Hexagon Council. The Consilium de Civitate will discuss the nominee and his qualifications for at least a week before the vote is held.

Should the nominee receive the support of three fourths of non abstaining Consilium de Civitate members, the Curator shall create a discussion in the Prothalamos lasting at least three days and then move the nomination to vote as per the procedure in Section 2 Article 3. The vote shall last one week and the nominee shall require a two-third majority of non-abstaining votes to become Divus. A nominee who fails the vote is not eligible to be nominated again for a six month period.

The Tribunal forum exists for members of the Total War Center forums who have been given infractions by forum moderators to appeal their case to a panel of elected judges (Tribunes), as well as a sub forum containing archives of past tribunal cases that anyone can look at. The Tribunal has existed at various times for various durations, but has only come within the influence of the Curia rather than moderation staff following the implementation of the March 2007 Constitution.

"To defend the democracy and freedom of TWC, and to ensure fair and just punishment towards those who violate the laws of TWC, a Tribunal shall be established

The purpose of the Tribunal is to provide those members of TWC who have been punished in the past by the Moderation Branch a place to request the reversal of their punishment. This is in no way a guarantee that the punishment will be removed, but every case presented will be reviewed by a panel of three judges.

Members may create a thread in the Tribunal Forum with the Case Number and the name of the appealing member. The Judges will study the case details in a private sub forum, and may request any additional information on the member from the Senior Moderators. The Judges will then post the majority decision in the original thread, and ask the Chief Moderator to remove any warnings if so required. The Judges are not tasked to decide the appropriateness or validity of a Forum Rule of Term of Service, and may only rule on whether the Term was correctly enforced and the punishment suitable for the offence."
Scorch is a Moderator of the Total War Center

History
Scorch joined Total War Center back in August 2005, shortly after buying a copy of Rome: Total War. After a few months, he left TWC, to return in a few sporadic bursts, like when he bought Barbarian Invasion.

That all changed after Christmas 2006, when he got Medieval 2: Total War. Returning to TWC initially for the mods, he was interested by the debates that raged in the CC, and decided to try and become a Civitate.

When the rebellion against ON was at its peak, Scorch had to go on holidays, and returned to find the site in Imb's hands. Shortly thereafter, he became a citizen. He was patronised by Ozymandias - who he had met in the debating forums several times already - and passed his vote.

As soon as he became a citizen he jumped right into it. He first gained recognition (not to mention almost 10 points of rep) for debating with tBP in the Curia Main about his actions on a thread to appreciate the beauty of the feminine form. He fought with jp in order to change the patrician rank, and generally embroiled himself in Curia politics.

Less than a month into his time as a citizen, Scorch answered a call for moderators, and was - to his surprise - accepted.

Having earned his Bronze Moderators Mace and Bronze (soon to be Silver) Scribe's Quill, Scorch was accepted as a Patrician, shortly before the rank was abolished. He is also noted for attempting to VonC the Black Prince, who he alleged had been doing a poor job as Curator, other members of the curia supported this viewpoint and the VonC was taken to vote. The VonC failed however, with 29 votes in favour, 31 against, and 15 abstentions; notably the total of 75 votes cast represented one of the highest voting turnouts seen in the curia.

Scorch was elected to the Consilium de Civitate recently, and has recently been elected Wiki Editor. He has also been heavily involved in the Helios, producing a Vestiga Vestutatis column for the every edition but two, since he joined the team. He is also the author of the article "An Analysis of the Fall of the Roman Empire" which is now housed in the scriptorium.
As a result he is one of the few select people to have ever had their post count reduced to Zero. Over time however ScarFace stopped spamming, and his post quality increased. He was patronized by Scorch October 11th, 2007. ScarFace quickly became interested in the Curia, supporting various bills like the Citizen handbook. Most recently, Elrond became Curator by default following Professor420's ex post facto disqualification of his own candidacy. However, he was soon stunned by the friendly, highly intelligent and liberal atmosphere of TWC and decided to abandon the dark pits of spam at the .com and made TWC his home on the Internet.

Rise through the ranks
Trax was among the first (December 16, 2003) to recieve the new rank of civitate, created in December 2003. In the scandal surrounding the deletion of TWC he belonged to the anti tBP party, but opposed his ostrakon or banishment. In May 2004 Trax was surprised to hear, that he is chosen to be the next quaestor (May 16, 2004). As a quaestor he was given a task to clean up the RTW section of the forum. He proceeded to do so with a iron fist and achieved great success, the forum was cleaned of spam, double posting and threads asking:"When will the demo be released?" Problems began in mid June, when Trax lost access to internet and efficient moderating became impossible, still he was raised to the rank of praetor (late July 2004) after morble resigned. Trax was demoted from the rank of praetor, probably due to inactivity in November 10, 2004.

The Exile
After losing the staff position Trax remained moderatly active and held the post of local moderator in the history section, now known as Vestigia Vetustatis. During the May 2005 crisis he followed his favourite member borispavlovgrozny into exile in Anagennese, though he failed to get himself banned. The Anagennese period lasted almost a year, but in April 2005 Trax finally purchased RTW and became less and less active at Ana in favour of The Org's Europa Barbarorum section and for a period he lost interest in Total War world at all.

The Return
The return was a possibility for Trax since January 2007, when Ogre's Net lost control over TWC. In July 2007 Trax finally defeated his inherent laziness and sorted out his problems with internet connection, as a result he returned to TWC in 26th of July 2007 and is currently feeling very old and out of place in this rather different and very large internet community.

Current activities
In September 2007 Trax decided to run for a seat in the Consilium de Civitate, which he promptly won. He is now on the CDeC.

Cleanup

The series of events which led up to the Sale of the Site detailed in this article lasted from January 16, 2007 until January 20, 2007.

Causes
A number of reasons can be attributed to causing this incident. After the the Besim Episode there was still a lot of resentment from the TWC members towards the owners, Ogres Net. The members believed ON were out of touch with the community and ON were wary of some members of TWC trying to buy the site before, which they falsely believed was a Curial attempt to take over. Those who had attempted to buy the site before still though there was a chance of succeeding and were willing to play upon ON's weaknesses to achieve this, rightly or wrongly. When HorseArcher unexpectedly resigned as Head Administrator of Total War Center the remaining Hexagon Council were unsure how to react. As highlighted here ON wanted a three administrator system (Triumvirate) back and Hex started voting on who should be the administrators. imb39 sent an email to ogre on January 14, 2007 to assure him TWC would adapt to this new ON administrative model, he received no reply. This process was abruptly halted however, on January 16, 2007, by the appointment of Honor&Glory as the only administrator of TWC. Incidentally, Hex had decided upon imb39 as Head of the Site, with Fabolous as Content Administrator and Simetrical as Technical Administrator.

Events
Honor&Glory was appointed Head Administrator of TWC and proceeded to demote all the staff who he believed he could not trust, mainly those who were pro-Curia, anti-ON or had been against him at some time. HG however did not remove the abilities of the staff to ban, moderate and administrate for several hours. The rest resigned within the next 24 hours. Belisarius then controversially removed all the content on the TWC front page, replacing it with V for Vendetta videos. Belisarius was then temporarily banned by Simetrical so no more changes to the content could be made. Aristocrat banned HorseArcher, unbanned all the people who had been banned and resigned.

Shyam Popat joined in early 2006 under the name Spartacus_Popat. A Rome: Total War player, he came for the game and stayed for the people. Quickly finding his way around the site, Shyam delved into the Political Mudpit, the Ethos, Mores, et Monastica, the Vestigia Vetustatis and his most famous, the Praedae Billi, which would soon be called the Coliseum.

Competitions
Shyam began his line of competitions with the "Roman History Trivia Quiz", lasting for many rounds and creating a foundation for his future quiz career. After this, he set up the "General Knowledge Quiz", in which there was controversy over cheating and Shyam found himself retiring from quizzes. This, however, was quickly ended when he came up with the best quiz of all, the "Caption Competition Quiz". Later, he began the "Who's Who" competition, which was extremely popular, and ended up having to create new versions of said competitions, like the "Simpsons'" competition.

Controversy
Shyam was kicked out of TWC for a period of time after posting links that violated the ToS. After a few months, he returned, and was routinely put up for ostrakon as he still retained his Civitate badge. However, he voluntarily gave it up, and is now still a member amongst the rank and file.

The Beginning
Trax arrived to TWC 16th of October 2003. He came after the Time Commanders videos and had no intention to stay.

In May 2004 Trax was surprised to hear, that he is chosen to be the next quaestor (May 16, 2004), as a quaestor he was given a task to clean up the RTW section of the forum.

The Exile
After losing the staff position Trax remained moderatly active and held the position of local moderator in the history section, now known as Vestigia Vetustatis.

In September 2007 Trax decided to run for a seat in the Consilium de Civitate.

Overview
Total WarEmpire: Total War is set in the 18th century a turbulent era that is the most requested by Total War’s™ loyal fan base and a period alive with global conflict, revolutionary fervour and technological advances. With themes such as the Industrial Revolution, America’s struggle for independence, the race to control Eastern trade routes and the globalisation of war on land and sea, Empire: Total War™ promises to be amongst the richest and most dynamic PC RTS games of all time.

Empire: Total War will see the debut of 3D naval combat within the Total War™ franchise. PC Gamers will be able to intuitively command vast fleets or single ships upon seascapes rich with extraordinary water and weather effects that play a huge role in your eventual glorious success or ignominious defeat. After pummelling your enemy with cannon fire, close in to grapple their ship and prepare to board taking control your men as they fight hand to hand on the decks.

Along with the revolutionary introduction of Naval Combat, Empire: Total War™ will see further enhancements to the Total War™ series signature 3D battles and turn based campaign map. Real time battles will pose new challenges with the addition of cannon and musket, challenging players to master new formations and tactics as a result of the increasing role of gunpowder within warfare. And the Campaign Map – for many the heart of Total War™ – will see new improved systems for Trade, Diplomacy and Espionage with agents, a refined and streamlined UI, improved Advisors and extended scope taking in the riches of India, the turbulence of Europe and the untapped potential of North America.

“Empire: Total War™ is a huge revolutionary step for the series. We’re delighted to introduce true 3D naval combat, something that adds a totally new dimension to Total War™ games. We’re genuinely excited about what we’re achieving with the naval battles and also by the scale of the improvements being made to the core of the game – the land battles and the campaign. This will undoubtedly be the biggest and best Total War™ game we’ve ever made.”

commented Mike Simpson, Studio Director at The Creative Assembly and the father of the Total War™ franchise.

Empire: Total War™ has already been secretly in development at The Creative Assembly’s Horsham studio for over a year and is priming its forces for a release in 2008.
