:''Main Article [[History of Total War Center]]''
The origins of today's Total War Center start with a small site under the name mtw.gamercastle.com. When the gamercastle.com domain closed in 2003 the site's founders moved to www.legiontotalwar.com and adopted the name Total War Centre (note English spelling of name!).  The site at that time comprised a small community, focused mainly on intellectual debate. A short-lived (and illegal) hosting of some of the "Time Commanders" videos featuring the RTW engine brought more attention and members.

The site attempted a more democratic style of management than most forums, featuring a system of Citizenship and community involvement via the Curia.  This caused some conflict with Ogres Net, the then owners of the site.  A series of events culminated in the site being sold by Ogres Net in early 2007 and purchased by imb39.  Subsequently, Garbarsardar purchased the site from imb39 in 2008, and the current owner GrnEyedDvl, purchased the site in 2011.

=The Total War Sections=

TWC covers all the Total War Series games from the original year 2000 Shogun: Total War to the present day.  All the games from the original Medieval: Total War onwards have Modding Workshop sections.  The most active modding area is the one for Medieval II: Total War, despite being an older game the ability to create 'Total Conversions' by radically changing the campaign map has maintained modders' interest in the title.
