	The Speaker of the House ~~used to be an official~~ of the [[~~Total War Center~~]] ~~forums and a~~ [[~~Hex\|Hexagon Council Officer~~]]. ~~His~~ purpose was to represent the [[Curia]] in ~~all Council discussions~~. ~~The office had a personalised badge~~, and ~~access to all areas~~ of the ~~site~~.		The '''Speaker of the House''' was a unique member of the [[Hexagon Council]] elected by the [[Curia]] lasting from 2007 into 2008 as part of the extensive staff reforms following Ian's purchase of the site. They had their own badge and broad access to the forum, although they did not have access to the most sensitive administrative tools. Their purpose was to represent the Curia in administrative discussion. Additionally they were the voice of Hex when important communications needed to be announced to the Curia directly. Finally, they took on tasks such as handling citizen appointments and open ratifications of members of Staff in the days when the Curia could directly oversee staff appointments.

	The ~~Speaker used to be elected from the Citizens by the Citizens on a three~~-~~month basis (assuming no resignations) and could hold the office any number~~ of ~~times. The Speaker was charged to represent~~ the ~~Curia's interests~~ in ~~Hex, as well as do a variety of administrative duties of varying importance, from promotion of citizens~~ to ~~beginning~~ the ~~ratifications of various members of Staff. The Speaker could also~~ be ~~charged by Hex with communicating various proposals or statements of fact to the Curia, although this happened only seldomly~~.
