Historically, the Austrians were widely regarded as producing the finest light infantry forces in Europe. Other nations did catch up, but in the case of Britain and France it was their experiences in fighting in North America that persuaded them of the wisdom of light troops. Battle lines were simply impossible to manage in the dense woodlands, and largely pointless against the native tribes!

Prussian Jaegers are recruitable only in Prussia's home regions of Brandenburg and East Prussia. In exchange, however, they are superior to regular Riflemen. However, Prussian Jaegers do have slightly inferior statistics to some other unique Riflemen. Since Prussian Jaegers can only be recruited in such specific places, it may behoove Prussia to keep its battles in the European Theatre until all its armies have Prussian Jaegers replacing light infantry to maintain the advantage of having elite light infantry. Light infantry such as the Prussia Jaegers should be used to harass the enemy lines until the Line Infantry can finish the job. Due to their low melee statistics they should be kept well away from melee encounters.
