Skymod for RTW/BI/M2TW
Skymod is a mod by HorseArcher, which aims to change the wheather condicions, wheather graphics, as well as add alot of new things like blizzards, thunderstorms, bloodred dramatic skies etc.
Skymod for RTW/BI
There exist two versions for RTW:
- Skymod for RTW 1.2 (outdated)
- Skymod for RTW 1.3 and more important RTW 1.5 / Barbarian Invasion 1.6
Mod changes and content, the different download links as well as the Install Instructions can be found here in it's official TWC Thread:
Skymod for M2TW
Here is a short list of what HorseArcher has tried to implement in his mod:
- Correct all small problems, or whatever problems i see or find during my customization
- Reduce the fog globaly on all climates
- Increase sunny the weather patterns according to the climate type
- Increase the chances of some rare events, such as blizzards and thunder storms
- Customize weather events by chaining them into one (sunny to rainy, rainy to sunny, cloudy to clear etc)
- Customize the clouds, try using alternative custom made clouds
- Increase the speed of the clouds (visually very cool)
- Build custom effects
- Reduce bloom lighthing globally
- Create custom weathers
- Create custom climates
- Create custom weather phenomenas (as far as the modding and the engine and my experience let's me), such as heavier dust/wind/rain/snow/fog/ effects as well as custom made weather effects (light/heavy snow; light, medium, heavy rain etc)
- Attempt to re-activate disabled effects (overcast)
When installing this mod for M2TW, two things are important to remember:
- You will need to activate the Shader 2 graphics option for this mod to work.
- You will need to use the --IO. file_first command to get this mod to work.
The install instructions for this can be found on the Total War Center download page for this mod, see below:
Links for the M2TW Version
- TWC Download page here you can find the basic information about this mod, the download link, and of course the install instructions for the --IO. file_first command exe.
- Detailed Explanation on how to create the command exe
- And finally: the screenshots for this M2TW mod
