Description
Marshal Beale's Revolution Order of War sets NTW back to 1789 - and the French Revolution. ROW changes all uniforms, unit stats, technologies, and creates a completely new campaign for the players to play on, and either keeps your nation under the control of a tyrant, or liberates yourselves, and run the nation as a free people. Still currently in BETA, it already looks like an entire new game, with a whole new gaming experience. Originally planned as an expansion mod for Napoleon Order of War, it is now completely separate, as it is too large to be an expansion.
Features
- New Setting. ROW is set at the start of the French Revolution, with appropiate Starting positions and units. Choose which France shall emerge, the one of the the Ancien Régime, or the new one of the Republicans. The fate of the Monarchy is in your hands.
- Revamped AI. ROW uses Josst's Ultimate AI mod as a base, thus greatly expanding the capabilities of the AI to the outer edges of AI modding. The Revamped AI not only is free from many of the feared and despised bugs of vanilla AI, but it is now as flexible and efficient as most human players. It will ulitlise new tactics such as pinning and flanking, as well as avoiding the large mishapen blobs that plague the vannilla AI. The Campaign AI has also been upgraded, with the AI now honoring alliances, building better armies, and better economies, leading to a campaign experience like no other that you might even lose to.
- Music. Revolution Order of War comes with upgraded and period music. Now watch as your army expands to the tune of Handel, and destroys your enemies to the themes of Bach.
- Historical Uniforms. Experience the real Revolutionary Garb with 95% of the uniforms of all major faction reworked to be period appropriate. No longer march to battle wearing a shako, put on a bicorn, the hat of real men, and trample the banners of your enemies beneath your feet.
- Historical Leaders. Place your large armies of ferverent revolutionaries in the skillful hands of Lafayette, or Crush the Republicans and march through Paris with the Duke of York. ROW adds numerous Historical Generals and national leaders.
- Historical Unit Statistics and Gameplay. ROW is a historical mod, trying to find the perfect balance of gameplay and accuracy, therefore Unit stats were changed to represent factual unit to unit statistics. Balancing has been done through the roof, so things like unit limits, ammo, musket range and velocity, accuracy, etc... are statistics are very historically orientated whilst at the same time being fun to play. Every faction has its historical good points and weak points.
- The Whiff of Sulfur mod is also included in ROW, this makes the smoke effects unbelievably realistic. These New Smoke and Blood effects that have been added make the battlefield full of sulphur and gore. It is a sight like no other when you see mass clouds of gunpowder smoke travel across a field strewn with the fallen, smoke cluding your view and making it hard to spot enemy troops thus adding to the immersion. The blood effects are beyond belief, for when a 15 pound hunk of iron tears through the enemy, and blood splatters all over the ground, you feel like you are there and almost even want to call for a doctor!
- Faction Specific Morale system. Untrained French Revolutionaries have lower morale, whereas well trained British Professionals have much higher morale, realistic faction specific morale has been done for all major factions.
- Revolution: Order of War also includes lots of new UI (User Interface) giving it a new battle panel, new menu title, and many small changes
