A "mod" is a version of a Total War game which has been modified by one or more users.
"Modding" is the act of creating such modifications.
There are several different ways that a Total War game can be modified,
and the possible types of modifications vary between different Total War games.
There are many different mods for each game.
Some mods have much more extensive modifications than others.
