Released in 2011 the game marks a return to Total War roots, with Shogun 2 sharing the same setting as the first game in the series, Shogun: Total War.

This modification aims to make the base game more realistic and enjoyable to play. As such it has a number features including a major overhaul of the magic system, slower paced battles, and more realistic characters and units that have their power scales adjusted to better fit the Warhammer setting. Vampires and Dragons are more powerful to reflect how deadly they are, Black Orcs are some of the best units in the game and humans are generally less powerful in comparison without the proper technology.
