Upload Sites

Here is a list of sites than can be used to host mods with some information on each. Sites are listed in descending order of possible hosted file size.

NB: Although these sites have been suggested by individual TWC members no guarantee is given that any of them will perform as desired! It would be advisable to test any you are proposing to use with a test upload and download of a small file before attempting large uploads or releasing link to public! As always if using any internet facility you should make sure your computer is protected with up-to-date anti-virus software etc....

• Other Comments: Fairly user friendly, some maintenance downtime early Feb, OK more recently.

Vietsharing

• Download Counter: Yes (and it seems to work)
• File Retention Time: 30 days after last DL
• URL Upload: Yes
• Other Comments: only 3 parallel DL slots per file

Badongo

• Registration: Optional
• File Size Limit: 1GB
• Download Counter: ?
• File Retention Time: 25 days after last DL / 45 days or forever depending on registration type
• URL Upload: No
• Other Comments: Large files may be split when downloaded see " here - also download function not working when tested 30.3.07 - suggest test small file first, please amend this note if confirmed as working

MegaUpload

• File Size Limit: 500MB
• Download Counter: No
• File Retention Time: 21 / 90 days after last DL / never depending on membership level
• URL Upload: Fetch files from remote servers via FTP or HTTP - premium service only

• File Size Limit: 300MB / 500MB with free registration
• Download Counter: Yes (but doesn't clock up instantly)
• File Retention Time: deleted after 21 days without DL (31 with free registration)

• Other Comments: unlimited parallel downloads

• File Size Limit: 300mb (for free)

• File Size Limit: 250MB (Upload limit actually 10GB, but downloaders have 'passport' system that only allows 250MB at a time)

• File Retention Time: Retained if I DL in first 7 days, then 1 per 25 days.
• URL Upload: http and ftp
• Other Comments: Passports for downloaders are free but effectively limit useful file size to 250MB

FileMonster

• Main Page: http://www.filemonster.net/
• Registration: Optional
• File Size Limit: 250MB free / 500MB premium
• Download Counter: Yes (doesn't clock up instantly might work later)
• File Retention Time: 30 days after last DL / forever for premium
• URL Upload: http and ftp
• Other Comments: 100 parallel DL's possible on free service

DivShare

• Main Page: http://www.divshare.com
• Registration: Optional
• File Size Limit: 200MB
• Download Counter: Yes (but seems to count page views)
• File Retention Time: Claimed 'forever'
• URL Upload: No
• Other Comments: Started Dec 2006. Gives optional DIRECT LINK so you can take URL uploads from it!

Rapidshare

• Registration: Optional
• File Size Limit: 100MB
• Download Counter: No
• File Retention Time: deleted after 45 days without DL / never for premium membership
• URL Upload: Premium service only
• Other Comments: Slightly harder for user to find DL link, may have some problems see: Wiki on Rapidshare
