Description
Napoleon Order of War, one of the most thoroughly overhauled mods of Napoleon Total War is meant to bring you the ultimate in campaign AI, battle AI, historical accuracy and a realistic and tactical form of gameplay never seen before. The Goal of this mod is to put people in the situations Wellington, Blucher, Tsar Alexander and Archduke Charles where in, and ultimatly the position Napoleon was in, to bring back the feeling of RTW, with commanding thousands of troops, and you sit down, and put on your Marshal Bicorn hat, and take command of forces that will change the world. That is Napoleon Order of War!
Features
- Revamped AI. NOW uses Josst's Ultimate AI mod as a base, thus greatly expanding the capabilities of the AI to the limits of modding. The Revamped AI not only is all but free from the dreaded "Melee bug" but it is now as flexible and efficient as most human players, ulitlising new tactics such as pinning and flanking, as well as avoiding the large mishapen blobs that plague the vannilla AI. The Campaign AI has also been upgraded, with the AI now honoring alliances, building better armies, and better economies, leading to a campaign experience like no other.
- Reworked naval warfare. A naval overhaul made by ‘Sharp’ was offered to be included into NOW. It changes naval battles to a gripping new way of gameplay, making naval battles extremely tactical and historically accurate down to every last cannon. Now naval battles should be a lot more immesly intresting, with lots of new destruction panels, 22 new boats, and a whole new wind control system, boats being slower, so less micromanagement is required, so its not a clickfest anymore!
- Historical Uniforms. Uniforms were at its peak during the Napoleonic ages, as they started to cross from parade to more of a utility. Therefore NOW has changed 90% of the uniforms to the appropriate 1805 standard dress, as well as completely retexturing France leading to a much more historic look, and subsequently a much more historical experience. Napoleon Order of War includes over 100 new unique units, each with their own unique uniforms and statistics. Greatcoats are also now the main features of the French, Prussian and Russian troops, adding to the variety of the troops and again making battles so much more emersive. It looks great and its very historical.
- Historical Unit Statistics and Gameplay. NOW is a historical mod, trying to make the best gameplay and realistic mod possible, therefore Unit stats were changed to represent statistics found in deep research from real training documents and reports.Balancing through the roof, so things like unit limits, ammo, musket range and velocity, accuracy, etc... The statistics are very historically orientated, every faction has its historical good points and weak points. *Most factions have been unlocked for custom battles and MP battles, not just the major factions
- Units now fire by line of sight, which is basically the first two rows, but this is fully hisotically.
- Upgraded Unit Sizes (Line Infantry - 240; Light Infantry - 180; Skirmishes - 140; Heavy Cavalry - 80; Light Cavalry - 60; Artillery - 40)
- The Whiff of Sulfur mod is also included in NOW, this makes the smoke effects unbelievably realistic. These New Smoke and Blood effects that have been added, make the battlefield full of sulphur and gore. It an amazing sight seening mass clouds of gunpowder smoke travel across a field, making it hard to spot enemy troops thus adding to the emersion. The blood effects are beyond belief, when a howitzer fires at your troops, it makes a massive crater, and blood splatters all over the ground. Its adds that much more realism.
- Upgraded Morale System, with a curve affect, their moral will rise as they start to win campaigns, but towards later campaign, their moral will start to drop, because they start to miss their families, they have been fighting for longer, their losing their comrades, etc... so naturally, they will lose moral in later campaigns, but not as low as they started with.
- Napoleon Order of War also includes lots of new UI (User Interface) giving it a new battle panel, new menu title, and many small changes
