Hailing from the edge of the Black Sea, these well trained archers wear padded armour and use a composite bow.
Overview
Hailing from the edge of the Black Sea and plying their trade in the service of Byzantium, these men are recruited from the peasantry but well trained in the use of the composite bow. They are effective against light infantry and when grouped in large numbers can become a thorn in the side of any opponent.
Details
Trebizond Archers are a good missile unit, which, due to its early availability, gives the Byzantine a slight edge in terms of missile potency. Trebizond Archers are available at a practice range, the second building in the archery range building line. They have missile stats not too much inferior to that of the Byzantine Guard Archers, though a susceptible to enemy missile due to their low armour. They also do not have the melee capabilities and stats that the Byzantine Guard Archers do and so, should be kept out of melee. All in all, a decent missile unit, which is cost effective.
