Archer's Plot

This is the truth of Archer's plot. I have evidence to back this up but feel it inappropriate to show it here. I also have a number of sources that poitn me towards this conclusion.

A Little History

The plan has been developing for a while now. Archer tried to buy the site during the middle of last year, then zboards did and finally imb39. All these failed after the culmination of the Besim Episode in whihc he tried to force the sale of TWC to Zboards (see Of the Exile for more details]] This plot emerges after the fall of Besim.

= The Plot

Archer resinged last week, suddenly, citing he had real life issues and had no time. This is now known to be false as he is now back in charge of TWC as sole admin. This reminds of a Pompeyesque plot when Pompey resigned Political life, at the advice of Cicero, the people and senate then needed him to eliminate the pirate threat so Pompey was brought back and given Dictator style powers over Rome. The parallels with our current situation are obvious. Archer resigned last week, knowing that Ogre was going to appoint Honor&Glory (Richard the Lionheart) as admin. He knew all the staff would be removed by HG (he probably told him to do so)and this would cause uproar resulting in suspensions. He knew HG would be sacked by ON and he would be the only person that ON would appoint as the new Sole Admin. Archer has studied his Roman History and is now in a similar position to Pompey, he has no opposition at all. This plot is one of genius I have to admit, but we musn't let it succeed for we will go from problem to problem until ON have left TWC for good. The Pupeteer has now revealed himself...

Justinian's Message

I apologise for this hijacking of the front page. But hey, it's already been done before, and perhaps we should have listened then.

I'm Justinian. I was a staff member at TWC from September 15, 2005 to January 16th, 2007. If you do the math that's 1 year, 4 months and 1 day. In that period I was admin, from March 1st 2006 to - again - January 16th. And in that time, I, along with fellow Hex members and dedicated staffers like Belisarius, imb39 (or El Cid), Asterix, Tacticalwithdrawal, Seneca, Fabolous, Simetrical, Aristocrat, Evariste, Gigagaia, Lusted . . . and further back, members like Soren, did our best for years to make TWC into the forum it was yesterday. A forum full of intellectual discussion, content, with thousands of members, more hits than all the other TWC fansites, and the #1 spot among Total War fansites.

For those years we were staff, we served the TWC community. We have lives, families, school or jobs, but we sacrificed a little bit of that every day to help TWC grow, make it bigger, better, stronger. We did everything we did, not for our own interests (what is more worthless than a little badge on a site in a corner of the Net?), but for the sake of the community. We put in hundreds, if not thousands, of hours to improve TWC. We made some bad decisions and many good ones. In the end, we were the longest-serving, steadiest, calmest, and most reliable group of staff TWC has ever seen, and we stuck together through thick and thin, bonds of brotherhood between people who have never met in real life, held together by a cable and "a series of tubes".

We were thanked for this work by being demoted without warning by ON, whose sole purpose is to grind TWC down into a uniform lump of clay, identical to all the others they have molded and mashed to their pathetic ideal. TWC remains the only ON site to have over 10,000 members - from TWC to the next largest is a massive drop in members, posts, and community. And yet ON, in their infinite wisdom, have decided it is best to destroy the very fabric of the site, rip it, tear it, burn it, and replace it with something alien, idiotic and all together worthless.

We move on to greener pastures. We hope TWC will continue and survive, and we hope we can return there some day and find it like it was, or at least in a state where we can help make it like it was.

Welcome to the TWC Community Wiki

This is a Wiki for all things total war, from modding, to the history of the community, to info about the games.

A Wiki only works as long as the community adds to it and updates it. If you use the Wiki, return the favour, and add something to it that is missing. Write a tutorial, or even just copy and paste one from a forum (giving due credit, of course!). Lets all do our part to make this a great repository of knowledge that will benefit the entire community.

Getting Started

Its easy to get started. Edit this page, add a new link to this page, and then edit your new page by clicking on the link to it, and add the new content to it. There will be a link to an Editing Help page for formatting specifications. Its that simple.

I've started structuring things, mostly dealing with categories.

Once we get some content added (50 pages?), we'll start creating a structure and moving articles around so they are easy to find. I have set up some sample page titles below. For the time being, things may be a bit messy, but too many dead-ends and too much structure is far messier. Please idle or use the Total war center IRC chat so that we can co-ordinate things:
