Description

Napoleon: Art of War is the latest modification for Napoleon: Total War. It aims to give you a historically accurate portrayal of the Napoleonic era while still remaining fun and enjoyable. Napoleon: Art of War re works all of the major armies of the time to make them more realistic and historically accurate. Napoleon: Art of War also adds a full Area of Recruitment system and a new campaign.

Features

Map Overview
  • Regiment unit sizes have been re-done so that each nation has unique unit sizes. These new unit sizes are historically accurate.
  • Complete unit statistics overhaul, so that units are more realistic in their abilities.
  • An Area of Recruitment system has been added, this means elite units can only be recruited in home regions. i.e. Old guard is only recruitable in France.
  • Changed the names of nations to their proper names, this greatly adds to the depth and realism of the mod.
  • New battle, campaign and menu music. This music is designed to be more historically accurate than the music in vanilla.
  • New unit cards for all units.
  • Camera shake reduced greatly.
  • Morale and battle mechanics have been tweaked so that when your regiment loses about half it's amount of units it will retreat. Your units will no longer fight to the death.
  • Custom tech tree designed to be more historically accurate.
  • Militia have a policing bonus similar to Dragoons, this is what militia were mainly used for.
  • All dragoons can fire from horseback.
  • Removed the Ironclad unit because it wasnt around during the Napoleonic wars.
  • New marching speeds, so that your army marches at the same speed.
  • The large the caliber of artillery shoots more canister shot. i.e. a 12lb will shot more canister shot than a 6lb.
  • Historically accurate battle flags have been added.
  • Unit caps have been added, this means that you cant recruit an unlimited amount of elite units.
  • Napoleon: Art of War adds a new campaign to the game, it starts in 1806 and finishes in 1814. This means the Confederation of the Rhine has been established, adding a new challenge.
