Napoleon: Art of War recreates the entire original game, leaving no traces of the vanilla game behind, to make the most realistic gaming experience. The 4 main aspects our mod strives for is Realism, Historical Accuracy, Opportunity and Flexibility. I think, and all of our fans do too, that we have achieved this to a point that no other mod has gotten any were near reaching.
Change List
Campaign Modifications
- All nations playable
- Renamed the Campaigns of the Coalition to The Grand Campaign, because you can now play as everyone
- Changed the Campaign start time to 1806, which is when the Confederation of the Rhine was created
- Changed ownership of plenty of regions for this start time
- Added an Area of Recruitment system
- Modified recuitment times of all units
Battle Modifications
- All nations playable in the custom battle
- Unit Stats have been completely overhauled; Accuracy, Reloading, Ammo, Attack, Defence, Charge, Morale, Armor
- Added many units to ever nation, to add more depth to your armies
- Each nation has their correct unit sizes, which is exactly based on their company sizes (or battery sizes)
- Each nation has the correct ammount of artillery pieces in a unit, based on the historical amount in a battery
- Every nations rank and file spacings are based exactly on what it was historically
- Nations rank depth organsiation is based on what it was historically
- Each nation has their historical firing formations, for most it's fire-by-rank
- Changed the stats that a unit gets when it gains experience
- Militia, Reserve Infantry, Light Infantry, Line Infantry, Elite Infantry and Guard Infantry can all use square formation
- Modified the range of every projectile to a much more realistic figure
- Modified projectile lethality, for a more realistic figure
- Removed campaign unit limits from all units except Guard Infantry and Guard Cavalry
- Multiplayer unit caps are; 1 of every Guard Infantry and Guard Cavalry; 1 of each Artillery; 2 of each Cavalry; Unlimited of all other Infantry
- Modified Generals special abilities, you get 10 instead of 2
- Generals rally and inspire ability have a greater effect
- Elite Infantry scare nearby enemies
- Guard Infantry inspire nearby allies and scare nearby enemies
- Elite light troops have good stamina
- The morale effects have had a complete overhaul, to make the game 100% historical
- Cannons don't get destroyed as easy
- Buildings don't get destroyed as easy
- Introduced many new unit classes
- Bigger caliber cannons have more shots in a cannister shot
- Cannister shots reload quicker than a round shot
Removed many things too;
- Removed wooden stakes
- Removed honour regiments
- Removed foreign regiments from custom battle
- Removed tracers
- Removed experimental howitzers
Siege Modifications
- Siege artillery is the only artillery that can brake through walls
- Removed grappling hooks
- Men on the walls can shoot much further, and reload quicker
- Removed Rocket Ships
- Removed Bomb Ketches
- Removed Ironclads
Visual & Audio Modifications
- Renames all units to what they actually should be
- Renamed all nations to what they should be
- Renamed all classes
- Added our own Main Menu music
