  • Overview

The billhook was originally developed from a farming tool, and consists of an axe and hook on the end of a long pole. A trained billmen can use it to stab, hack, and drag down his enemies, including both infantrymen and cavalry. It is excellent as both a defensive and offensive weapon.

    Details

Billmen are English infantry built with more offensive inclinations and are cheaper than their preceding Levy Spearmen. They have a high attack and charge bonus, but low defense. Billmen also have armor piercing, which further increases their effectiveness against infantry. Their higher morale means they are going to fight longer than levy troops, and the high attack-low defense combination means Billmen will give – and receive – high casualties before routing. Missile vulnerability however is a major liability since the Billmen’s entire defense is a defensive skill factor, which isn’t used for missile attacks.
