Overview

3D Modelling is required to change the shape of units, buildings, walls, vegetation and other aspects of the Total War series games.

Modelling for the Rome - Total War games is generally carried out with 3DS Max, that is the only program for which an export format exists that can be directly used by the game. The free program Gmax can be configured to import models but can not directly export them.

Modelling for Medieval II - Total War battle units is possible with Milkshape 3D v1.8, other items such as strat map models can be opened in 3DS Max.
