The Critic's Quill is a TWC publication, formerly published under the title 'The Eagle Standard Presents: The Critic's Quill'. It was started separate to the Eagle Standard, but was quickly incorporated under it's banner, as it deals with some similar aspects. The Quill became independent again pretty soon though. The Critic's Quill offers readers reviews, articles and interviews about After Action Reports (AAR), Creative Writing and writing advice in general.

The Writers Study and the Critic's Quill merged together retaining their names, but working as one entity under one Content Staff team.

As of August 2015, all CQ articles will be found here.

History

Work began on the first issue of the Critic's Quill at the beginning of April 2009. The idea was floated in the AAR forum by the user Junius about the possibility of an AAR reviewing magazine. With help from Kátz, who had produced some reviews of his own before, TW King and Morinzil, as well as moderation support from Hesus de Bodemloze, the first issue was launched soon after.

The merger with the Eagle Standard was first put forward by Calvin, through Hesus de Bodemloze, who was acting as the public 'face' of the Critic's Quill at this time. Eventually it was agreed on that the Critic's Quill should be published as an Eagle Standard publication. Not long after the Critic's Quill became independant again.

In September 2015, the Critic's Quill and the Writer's Study merged. They still retain their names but now function as one entity
