HowTo:Unlock All Factions

Unlocking all factions in the TW games is quite easy. Note that Shogun and Medieval Total War have all factions available from the start.

Rome: Total War

1. Go to your

C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign (gold edition)

C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\Data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign (Normal RTW).

2. Open Descr_strat.txt with notepad.

3. You will see three headings. Drag select the factions under unlockable and paste them under playable. this will unlock those factions for play.

4. For non playable Simply drag them from the nonplayable header to the playable one. Congrats you have just unlocked every faction. Save the file over the original and start RTW.

Caution: Playing as the Slaves or Senate can cause the game to crash.

Barbarian Invasion

The process is exactly the same as for RTW just gp top

C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\BI\data\world\maps\campaign\barbarian_invasion (Gold Edition)

c:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\bi\data\world\maps\campaign\barbarian_invasion(Normal BI)

and copy the unlockable and nonplayable to the playable header. Congrats all bi factions are now unlocked.

Medieval 2 Total War

1.Similar to RTW go to C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign

2. Open descr_strat.txt with notepad.

3. Copy the nonplayable and unlockable factions to playable. Congrats you have unlocked all factions for M2TW.

It has been said that Playing as the Timuds can make the game crash so watch out.
