300 Warlords of Sparta

300 Warlords of Sparta

300 Warlords of Sparta is a modification for Rome Total War: Alexander. It takes place in Greece and a portion of Asia Minor during the second Persian invasion of Greece, in 480 BC. It aims to re-create the Greco-Persian Wars through the inclusion of 2 distinct campaigns; The "300 'Warlords edition'" based on and influenced by the "300" movie and the "300 'Classic edition'" which introduces loads of new units in accordance with the time period, though that is not to say that historical accuracy has always been pursued.

The mod contains brand-new, fully retextured and re-modeled factions. The Greek Cities faction and the Persian faction are playable. A third, rebel faction is also included.

A number of scripted historical battles are also included in the Mod. For example, after the Battle of Thermopylae is over and some time spent in consolidating your alliances has passed, you will be automatically thrust in the Battle of Plataea. The result of such battles will have direct consequences over the course of your campaign.

In addition, various scripted missions have been introduced to the modification. Much like the way missions in MTW2 work, The Oracle's missions are mostly centered around liberating provinces which are under Persian occupation. There are considerable rewards to be earned upon each mission's success.

Furthermore, on capturing a Greek region the Spartans can "Liberate" the population by occupying the city and providing their benevolent form of government, or opt to "Disperse Liberated Population" among their other provinces. The Spartans may not "Exterminate" sympathetic Greek populations, however that option is still available if they capture a non-greek (Persian or Barbarian) region.

Unique, historically accurate generals such as Pausanias are featured in the mod, each complete with his own icon, backstory and traits, while two new buildings for the Spartans have also been implemented. The Krypteria, the Spartan secret police, conferring Public order bonuses due to law, and the House Of Gerusia; the Spartan Elder council, having a similar effect.
