Napoleon: Art of War recreates the entire original game, leaving no traces of the vanilla game behind, to make the most realistic gaming experience. The 4 main aspects our mod strives for is Realism, Historical Accuracy, Opportunity and Flexibility. I think, and all of our fans do too, that we have achieved this to a point that no other mod has gotten any were near reaching.

''1801 (The Elite Gendarmes of the Consular Guard were created on this date)''
Napoleon: Art of War is the latest modification for [[Napoleon: Total War]]. It aims to give you a historically accurate portrayal of the Napoleonic era while still remaining fun and enjoyable. Napoleon: Art of War recreates all the aspects of the original game, making it as historically accurate and realistic as possible.
+
* Elite Gendarmes of the Consular Guard

* Retextures all the nations armies on the game to look more historical and more detailed.

* Regiment unit sizes have been re-done so that each nation has unique unit sizes. These new unit sizes are historically accurate.

* Complete unit statistics overhaul, so that units are more realistic in their abilities.

* An Area of Recruitment system has been added, this means that the nations armies can only be recruited in their home region.

* Changed the names of nations and troops to their proper names, this greatly adds to the depth and realism of the mod.

* New battle, campaign and menu music. This music is designed to be more historically accurate than the music in vanilla.

* Morale and battle mechanics have been overhaulled to make it much more historically accurate.

* Custom tech tree designed to be more historically accurate.

* Militia have a policing bonus similar to Dragoons, this is what militia were mainly used for.

* All dragoons can fire from horseback.

* Removed the Ironclad, Bomb Ketch and rocket ship units because they either wern't around ruing this time or were not used in open naval warfare.

* New marching speeds, so that your army marches at the same speed, and now acually move at a marching pase instead of a walking pase.

* The larger the caliber of artillery shoots more canister shot. i.e. a 12lb will shot more pellets in a canister shot than a 6lb.

* Historically accurate battle flags have been added.

* Unit caps have been added, this means that you cant recruit an unlimited amount of any unit, adding a lot more accuracy to the game.

* Napoleon: Art of War adds a new campaign to the game, it starts in 1806 and finishes in 1814. This means the Confederation of the Rhine has been established, adding a new challenge.
