Description of Roles

The descriptions below were taken from an original post by Commissar Caligula_

Hexagon Council (Administration)

The Hexagon Council or ‘Hex’ are the main body which performs the day-to-day administration of Total War Center and its forums. They are the highest rank of staff on Total War Center and can be contacted should you have any concerns or questions that you feel other staff cannot answer. If you wish to suggest new features for Total War Center, please refer to the Questions & Suggestions fora.
They can be identified by the following badge:

Moderators form the body which performs the vast majority of day-to-day front-line moderation and they work to ensure the Terms of Service are upheld. Global Moderators are Moderators who have moderating powers over most forums on TWC. While regular Moderators usually only moderate one forum or set of forums (e.g. the M2TW forums), Global Moderators are trusted with moderating powers in most forums. They are chosen from existing Moderators and share a badge with other Moderators. If you wish to appeal a decision made by a moderator, refer to the Tribunal or the Praetorium.
Moderators can be identified by the following badge:

Modding Staff

The roles of the Modding Staff have recently been merged with the Content Staff , Moderation and Administration branches. The areas of responsibility are split as follows:

  • TWC Downloads - management of this section is now carried out by Content Staff. Problems with Downloads or comments in that section can be reported here.
  • Tutorial Indexes - will be managed by Content Staff, with the involvement of Wiki editors and Librarians.
  • Modding and Modification Forums - moving threads and updating links will be carried out by the Moderation Staff.
  • Applications for Hosted Mod Forums - will be dealt with by Modding Hex.
  • Updates to the Modding Registry - will also be dealt with by Modding Hex.

Technical Staff

Total War Center's Technical Staff fix technical problems on the site, ensure that it runs smoothly and may add, configure or remove features if necessary.
If you wish to discuss issues related to TWC's software or hardware" and for queries like "Why doesn't this feature work?" or "I found something wrong", please use The Questions & Suggestions sub-forum.
Technical Staff can be identified by the following badge:

The Tribunes form the Tribunal, a body which exists to provide those members of TWC who have been punished by the Moderation Branch with a place to request the reversal of their punishment. This is in no way a guarantee that the punishment will be removed, but every case presented will be reviewed by a panel of three judges. Tribunes are appointed by Hex to serve indefinitely, and are answerable only to GrnEyedDvl. If you wish to appeal a decision made by a moderator, refer to the Tribunal and the Tribunes will judge your case.
They can be identified by the following badge:

Site Awards

Yearly Site Awards are dividend into two different groups, Members and Modding. Such awards are managed by a Hexagon Administrator, but differently from the other activities in the Gaming and Competitions, they are run by two separate Committees which are not necessarily made up of Staffers or Citizens (though normally most of them are indeed Staffers from other departments, or Citizens). Everybody is welcomed to apply for a position within such Committees.

- TWC Modding Awards: These Awards are meant to reward worthy mods (including tools and resources) and modders (including tools and resources makers) hosted or anyways present at TWC. The Modding Awards have been held since 2005 and have evolved as the TW games (and their popularity and moddability) evolved themselves over the time. They originated as a Curial activity (with the supervision of Administration), but since 2014 edition they are managed directly by the Awards Hexer with the support and work of the Modding Awards Committee. Visit the Modding Awards forum here

- TWC Member Awards: These Awards are meant to reward all the worthy TWC members, as nominated and voted by the TWC membership itself. They include categories ranging from the Best Debater up to the Favorite Staff member, and they have evolved over the years as the site and its community evolved itself. First edition was held on 2005 and it originated as a Curial activity, but since 2013 edition they are managed directly by the Awards Hexer with the support and work of the Member Awards Committee. Visit the Member Awards forum here

Hexagon Council Awards

Those awards are handed out at the discretion of Administration. They are the Milestone Award, the Survivor Award and the Laurel Cluster. See the complete list with descriptions here
