TWC Wiki talk:TWC Scriptorium

Copyright Issues
There was some very short discussion on issue here. I'd be inclined to think that if a TWC post has already been copied by librarian into the Scriptorium we could do that here on the same basis. Think that would mean it should carry a link to the both the original poster and the original post (either scriptorium one or true original).
Also noting tBP's comments in the quote thread, we should perhaps check specifically with him before including anything he wrote?
Am 99% sure we shouldn't be copying anything from linked to .org articles or anything else off TWC without explicit permission from the writer.--Makanyane 12:41, 1 June 2007 (CDT)
- Have put in new template which can be used where it is advisable to attribute the original author more fully see Template:Imported (now Template:Permitted Tango12345 02:51, 28 October 2012 (MDT))
- What would everyone else think about using that for all things like Scriptorium articles and copied tutorials?---Makanyane 14:32, 3 June 2007 (CDT)
Categories and Templates
I assume plan is that articles just get put into their immediately above category like: :Category:Scriptorium_-_Middle_Ages and don't also exist separately in higher ones?
The Scriptorium template that Spiff did looks good so far including Real World categories but we might need to re-assess how that is done, once all categories and sub-categories are added it might be a bit big, think LTL is trialling changes to that at moment hopefully he can advise.--Makanyane 12:41, 1 June 2007 (CDT)
I have begun experimenting with the template check my sandbox here:

Amending / Re-Formatting Articles
Some of articles that will be coming via scriptorium are also things that do / would exist here anyway as articles. Things like the hosted mod listings and individual tutorials. I suspect duplication will not be helpful as it will tend to mean one article doesn't get updated. Can we work out policy for how Scriptorium articles relate to others? In some cases the (hosted mods would be an example) the Wiki article has got more content now than the original TWC one, should that get transferred back rather than try and keep Wiki aligned to TWC?
For the affected articles can they just exist as normal article but with both Scriptorium and whatever other relevant template?
Also most articles once here could possibly benefit from a little Wiki-fying of format and provision of internal links to other Wiki articles, do the librarian staff have any objection to that?--Makanyane 13:01, 1 June 2007 (CDT)
