Is everyone meant to be able to see / use the function? I can see it even logged out, whereas I can't see it at all on Wikipedia. It's quite easy to accidentally remove a category without realising what you're doing - umm I just did because I wondered where the little (-) would take me... it's not hugely obvious its going to edit page -Makanyane 16:09, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi there. I added the code to Mediawiki:Common.js so that everyone can use it; on enwiki, you have to add it to your own Special:Mypage/Monobook.js page, so it's voluntary. However, I thought that this method would be easier, letting more people who aren't familiar with .js editing to add and remove categories. If you like, we could set up a bot to clean TWC Wiki:Sandbox every so often, and direct people to play in there. I Am Herenow t / c 16:14, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
See what anyone else thinks (assuming anyone else is around) - I suspect if it's left as is you'll get a lot of accidental 'vandalism' from users or IP visitors thinking the +/- bits are going to take them somewhere / edit box is part of search function etc.... there's not that many active users working on the structural bits of the wiki so could it maybe be 'given' to them by setting up .js pages for them, and giving them explanatory note? (anyway whilst it's working for me I'll see if I can clear some more of backlog of uncategorised pages :-) )
Re: sandbox - did you mean just from this function directing them there? I didn't quite understand how that would work... Sandbox has not exactly been in use so far - so automation might be overkill, anyway Simetrical is probably the best person to talk to about specific technical stuff, like introducing bots -Makanyane 19:27, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Just to say thanks for this - neat gizmo... have got through some of the uncategorised backlog and sorted some of M2 scripted stuff I put in too general an area before. Ta -Makanyane 22:58, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Glad to hear it - I suppose we'll be able to come back to the issue of moving it to personal .JSs if we get too many problems? I Am Herenow t / c 07:51, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
