Tribunes are the two Hex appointed members of the Tribunal. They are appointed 'for life' (until voluntary retirement or forced removal). They make decisions on cases along with the Magistrates. If Magistrates are especially unruly or became so with an invalid election, they can be removed by a unanimous vote of these users. Accountably speaking, they answer only to the Hexagon Council or site owner and not to the Moderation Staff itself to maintain neutrality in cases.
Previously there was a provision in the Constitution officially stating the above, but that has not been the case for years.
