Introduction

Veni Vidi Vici: Total War(VVVTW) is a mod for the game Rome: Total War which aims to improve the original game by adding realism and better gameplay.

History

Historical Rome Total War was a project in 2011, which would make RTW historically accurate. The mod died after some time without being released, however, and nothing happened with the project for over a year. In March 2013, Asgaroth decided to try again, but renamed the project VVVTW. It has not been released yet.

Description

VVVTW is a mod that seeks to make the original game more realistic without changing much in the core of the game. The team focuses on making the game historically accurate, claiming 95% historical accuracy.

Features

This mod will, on release, have a number of features added to the Vanilla game.

Gameplay

Although the gameplay will be largely the same as the vanilla Rome: Total War, there will be made a few minor changes. The Roman factions, for example, will be less powerful than in the vanilla game.

Historical Accuracy

Although historical accuracy isn't the main focus of VVVTW, the team aims for a very high rate of historical accuracy by adding new, more historically accurate units and settlements. All factions will also have historical starting positions.

Realism

To make the game more realistic, VVVTW will have a new map to better illustrate the world around 270 BC, the starting date of the mod. Settlements will be given their 'native' name: Roman settlements will be using Latin names, while Gallic settlements will have Celtic names.

A number of banners and units will be added to the game, including 15 new factions. Every faction will have its own intro video. The map models of units like Diplomats and Assassins have been revised as well, adding 21 new Diplomat, Assassin, Ship, Captain and General campaign map models.
