The Monthly After Action Report Competition, also known simply as MAARC, is a monthly competition hosted on Total War Center. As the name implies, the focus is displaying self-nominated AARs every month and displaying them for community vote. The competition follows three stages - nomination, voting, and results. Any user on TWC may issue two votes for the competition's entries. Though the competition follows a regular schedule, the schedule may be adjusted to account for not enough entries submitted (ideally, 3+).

A tiebreaker thread is made if two entries gain the same amount of votes.

Winners of the competition receive points based on how many entries are present and what place they land. With six or more entries, first place is 4 points, second is 3 points, and third is 2. With less than six entries, first place receives 3 and second receives 2. These points contribute to an overall score in the Writing Center competitions.

The MAARC is presented in detail on the forum here, and MAARC is hosted in the general competitions board here in the Writer's Study. All winners of the MAARC are listed here, along with other competition winners. Prior competitions are listed in the WS Competitions Archive, which includes a historical thread for MAARC information.
