Overview
This is the account GrnEyedDvl uses to test things. This is a regular user account, that is sometimes moved between user groups to test permissions. You may occasionally see this user ranked as an administrator, or even banned.
Bot Accounts
On TWC you will occasionally run across an account with the word Bot appended to it. This is generally a member of Tech Staff who has created a second account for testing carious site functions. The history of this goes back to the early days of TWC when Simetrical created the first bot account, Simetribot
Link Examples
I am working on a mod entry tutorial for the wiki and I wanted to demonstrate some various ways to present a link. It occurred to me that creating unique Categories for various mods might present a bit of a challenge if we have more than one mod with the same 3 letter naming convention that we are all used to. For example we all call Rome Total War RTW, and Empire Total War ETW. If your mod conflicts with the standard naming convention we are all used to, then you have to come up with something unique for creating unique pages, but we can still make that display however you want.
For instance my main page is named GrnEyedDvl and to link to it you put that in double brackets then it displays like this GrnEyedDvl
The markup code to do that is [[GrnEyedDvl]]
If we want it to say something other than GrnEyedDvl then we mark it up like this:
[[GrnEyedDvl|Some Other Text]] and we get this which takes you to the same page: Some Other Text
The key is sticking that pipe character between the page name and the displayed text. A few more examples, all leading to the same page.
If you mouse over each one of those links you will see they all go to the same page. Fell free to edit this page and view the code.
