Overview

Medieval Classic Total War is a modification designed to bring back the Medieval feeling of the original Medieval: Total War. The mod's sole purpose is essentially the re-creation of the M:TW game to M2:TW's engine. The mod does not pursue historical accuracy.

Features

Factions

Factions have been significantly altered in order to conform to the original Medieval: Total War. Many factions have been renamed(example: "the Moors" have been renamed to "the Almohads"), new factions have been introduced(the Aragonese, the Swiss, Lithuania, a single "Italian" faction) in accordance to MTW. Factions have different starting positions for each era.

Campaign

The modification contains 3 different campaigns for the "Early", "High" and "Late Eras". Each campaign offers a unique playing experience due to differences in the units available for recruitment and various technological advances. For example, Halberdiers, Pikemen, Gothic Knights and the various Gunpowder units will only be available for the "Late" era campaign.

Units

There have been modifications to units as well. Unit names have been altered to conform with MTW, and in some cases new units have been added.

Unit stats have been rebalanced, to reflect MTW's slower battle gameplay. In addition "Elite" units have been given significant morale and stat boosts while the morale of the "low-end" units has been reduced.
