The World

The World is unchartered to the people of Arcus save for the ancient maps of the Old World held in Vana. The Seakings embarked on long journeys into the unkown to charter the world during the Ages of Myth.

Arcus is the name for the huge island landmass populated by humans and beasts and is the main setting for Chronicles of Arcus. The only known sentient species on Arcus are the humans who enjoys the same technology level of that of the early middle-ages of Europe. The island enjoys a temperate climate in the north and central areas where as harsh desserts and stonefields stretches across the south and east of the island.

The Age of Ice

When the Great Ice came from the north the kingdoms of the Ancient World, Arcaria and Cemmera, stood against it for a thousand years until the Ice forced them to the sea. Eccarus the Seaking then took his peoples across the great seas and settled upon the the great island later named Arcus by Eccarus' followers.

The Golden Age

In this age the peoples that followed Eccarus the Seaking to Arcus began establishing cities and petty kingdoms across the northern lands of Arcus. The first petty kingdom to be established was Vana, ruled by the heir the to throne of a kingdom in the Ancient World. Although hailed a savior Eccarus wasn't treated as member of the royal families nor could he acsend to royal status. Therefore his sons founded the Kingdom of Trond in the lush forrest of the north and later on other decsendants of Eccarus (known as the eccarians) founded the kingdom Eccarus in the western lands of Arcus.

During this time The South was as it had always been since the destruction of the Empire, petty kingdoms and tribes laid claim to these arid lands.

The New Age

In the The New Age the southern nations began to crumble due to internal struggle between ruling families. However Antaphar (born Cállasus), a young warrior united the Enphar clans and went on to annex the Telarphar Kingdom and the Golcan tribes. At the same time various trade disagreements led to bad relationship between the northern kingdoms. The Kingdom of Eccarus soon founded itself alone against the new threat from the south. The Kingdom of Vana and the Kingdom of Trond cared not for the growing danger. Then suddenly Antaphar launched an assult on the southern lands of Eccarus. King Thássus of Eccarus responded and gathered a great army of eccarians. Antaphar quickly subdued the Adaron provinces and Thássus arrieved too late to save the capital of Adaron. However against all odds Thássus managed to retake the city and drive Antaphars generals across the river, back into the Enphar Lands. But the victory came at a great cost, the King himself was wounded and eventually died from his wounds not many hours after the victory.
