History
Originally created and developed by the Italian team called Alaudae Team, the Rome Casus Belli project was stopped at the beta version 1.0.0 (subsequently updated to 1.1.0. with a patch). Modred, who was the Alaudae Team's leader, made a new edition in 2009, called Rome Casus Belli Classic Game. The in 2010 Iulianus Apostata made another new mod project called Rome Casus Belli Gold.
In late 2012, the Casus Belli Mod Team released their latest version, version 1.8.0.

- A new AOR script, units can only be recruited in certain regions, like elephants in Rome: Total War.
Units
- Casus Belli adds a lot of new historically accurate units to the game.
- The remaining units are reskinned. This was done to add more to historical accuracy.
