Overview
The Speaker of the House is an official of the Total War Center forums and acts as a Council Officer representing the Curia in all Council discussions. The office has a personalised badge, and access to all areas of the site.
The Speaker is elected from the Citizens by the Citizens on a three-monthly basis (assuming no reisgnations) and may hold the office any number of times. The Speaker is charged to represent the Curia's interests in Hex, as well as do a variety of administrative duties of varying importance, from promotion of citizens to beginning the ratifications of various members of Staff. The Speaker may also be charged by Hex with communicating various proposals or statements of fact to the Curia, though this role has been little used to date.
The present Speaker is Tom Paine, elected May 26th and re-elected August 6th.

The Speaker of the House is elected by the Curia, as per the procedure in Section 2 Article 2, from among those members ranked as Citizen, and will serve a term of three months.
Trivia
The mace on the badge of the Speaker is a reference to the Speaker's Mace found in a variety of real-life political systems, including the US Representatives and the British House of Commons.
