Overview
These hardy folk from the fringes of the Sahara make excellent spearmen, well suited to defending against cavalry. They are tough troops used to eking out an existence in the unforgiving desert periphery. The prospect of a punishing march across great distances to these robust people is almost as familiar to them as the passing of each day. Equipped with spears and large shields of wood and animal hide, battle holds few fears for these people - life in a desert gives people a certain fatalism. They are some of the best fighters available to Numidian commanders, but their lack of formal training is a slight weakness.
Details
Desert Infantry are vital to Numidia's survival. They are very strong troops with good stats and extremely high morale for soldiers available so early in a campaign. Desert Infantry can protect Numidia's Numidian Legionaries from cavalry and watch their flanks while the Legionaries attack the enemy. Desert Infantry are so tough and so stable in battle that they can hold the line against pretty much anything for a long time and will hold even if they are being defeated. These two soldiers are the only two strong melee fighters Numidia has, so using them together is important to winning battles as them. They also look like badasses.
