Regalia of Nations is a mod for Empire Total War. It does not change any gameplay aspects whatsoever, with the sole exception of making minor factions playable in the campaign. It is no longer being developed, but it has spawned an additional mod-Empire Total Flags, as well as other related mods such as the Battlefield Smoke Mod for NTW. It was designed to enhance the textures in Empire Total War, adding new unit textures, new flags, new sounds and new effects. Several other hosted mods have incorporated it, including the Ultimate Commander version of DarthMod Empire.
History
Regalia of Nations gained its own Hosted Mod Forum in May 2009, and over the next year releases several versions of the mod, both in an all-in-one download and as seperate choices in order to maximise the choice available to the player. The mod was updated up until November 2009, though the Blood and Smoke mods continued to be updated until February 2010. Empire Total Flags was also last updated that month.
Features
- Battlefield Smoke Mod-this mod enhances the gameplay during battles by incorporating much thicker and more realistic smoke than in the vanilla game.
- Blood Mod-this mod makes gouts of blood appear when soldiers are cut down by musketry and cannon fire
- Custom Faction Flags-higher quality, and in several cases more realistic flags than in the vanilla game. Some of these flags replace vanilla flags, and some were not incorporated into vanilla.
- Custom Battalion Flags-again, these are of higher quality than the originals. These new flags were made for nearly all of the factions in the game.
- Custom Naval Flags-again, these are more realistic naval ensigns. Examples of this include the Royal Naval Ensign and the United States "Don't Tread on Me" flag from the American War of Indepedence.
- Many Texture Updates for the vanilla units, including for Austria and Poland-Lithuania.
- A new Sound Pack brings in better musket sounds and slower drum cadences, as well as custom sounds for the heavy artillery and puckle guns.
