Please use this page to discuss any changes to namespace structure.

Have put discussion proposal for possible additional categories / clarification on User:Makanyane/namespace proposal as its a bit long and rambling to put here, please put any comments or alternative ideas here though. --Makanyane 05:49, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

"TWC Forum"

I'm thinking a TWC Forum: namespace would be good for separating out everything related specifically to TWC, with the main namespace being exclusively for Total War stuff. Alternatively, it would probably be better if we called that TWC: and called the current TWC: namespace TWC Official: or something. —Simetrical (talkcontribs) 21:23, 12 July 2007 (CDT)

I'd definitely agree with changing TWC: to TWC Official: regardless of any other change, it would make a lot of sense for the page names ../TWC Official:Constitution etc. and clearer even for sysops that they aren't meant to be messing around with content of those bits on their own accord.
Then yes a TWC / TWC Forum, section for the exclusively TWCenter stuff, would assume to include:
  • Ranks information
  • Curia Information
  • Helios
  • Eagle Standard
  • Forum History
  • Mod Registry - probably it is a TWC only enterprise, although it concerns Total War mods.
  • Scriptorium - main info catalogues would fit under TWC: but articles possibly split, things like album reviews or essays on philosophy are only relevant here as examples of members' posts, or for archiving purposes, so they'd fit better under TWC: But Total War articles would be better in main space if we can figure out extent things can be edited. Maybe that is the way of working that out, a true copy of anything physically in Scriptorium can go in under TWC: initially as a 'moved post', then if we want to borrow it as source material to mangle extensively for an article in the main area we get authors permission...
Bits still in mainspace probably:
  • Other fansites information.
  • TWC Hosted Modifications, certainly the actual mod's information would stay in main area - though I suppose index list could move.
  • Could grow to include related history / geography subjects, more general modding stuff, how to use graphics programs etc. programming / game design stuff, and of course anything we haven't thought of.
Thing I'm not sure about is the people category, it would make sense for people who's "career" is on TWC to be part of TWC category, but for people we made pages on because of modding contributions moving them under TWC: if they were more active on Org / Lords / RTR forums etc, seems a bit weird, and if they didn't have TWC account at all obviously completely illogical (actually even I don't like idea of '../TWC:Makanyane' that much!). Sorry long answer but short of ideas on that last bit... --Makanyane 11:15, 13 July 2007 (CDT)
