Chronicles of Arcus ("COA"), a.k.a. Arcus Lux, is a collection of three soundtracks created for the modding community. The albums were first called Arcus Lux (lat. Archlight) but as the project progressed, the creator Jones King, decided that it would fit the 'story' behind the album better to rename it Chronicles of Arcus. The name Chronicles of Arcus refer to the landmass known as Arcus in the fictional world for which the albums were made.

Quick overview

The album is soundtrack for movie or a story never told. And never is going to be either. The story behind the music is the Chronicles of Arcus. Arcus a fictional world created by Jones King to serve as a story behind the music. Arcus is huge landmass populated by humans and beasts. The humans control the lands and later in their history the humans controlled the entire landmass. The first album is the soundtrack for the era when Arcus was controlled by one ruler. Goodies
With the second release you will have the option of downloading the tracks only or an advanced pack with additional dokuments giving a short explanation of the world of Arcus. Further a map (please note this is still in development) will also be released in this advanced pack. For more detailed information about the world of Arcus visit the Chronicles of Arcus page.

Testing

The tracks have been tested on different soundsystems, however none of the tracks are suited for anything but simple 2.1 systems and headphones. The Arcus Lux team highly recommends the usage of headphones for maximum effect.

Usage

The scores are 100% free of charge. We do suggest you credit the artists in your credits.
The scores cannot however be re-distributed for a fee or used in any other 'commercial' way. Some scores contain samples which may not be re-distributed for a fee, although they are free to use. Before downloading you will have an opportunity to read the license in full.

Reception & reviews

"Arcvs Lvx is a great initiative and one of the most - if not the most - significant contribution to the modding community for a long time. The tracks of the score are great, and fit very well the theme of RTW - ie they are perfect for battle- and tension- tracks. King's men and the Turn of the Tide are my favourites, with Enter Lord Protector coming right behind them. Overall, Arcvs Lvx Pt.1 is a *great* piece of work [...]"
