For the purposes of legality Modders who create their own material which alters the original file that contains licensing for the integrated formats and/or programs that make the game engine run may be liable to include the same existing text upon public release of their mod.

The use of Licensing text in your "splash screen" is believed to be optional by many and has yet to be clarified officially one way or the other. Therefor my advise is seek permission from the developer or include the licensing text as they have, therefor you are technically only modifying the visual aspect.

Below supplied text in bold is the identical text found in both Rome: Total War & Medieval II: Total War engines. The text in italic is an addition that TWC and modders alike endorse, (so please also use it).

In addition to the above text it is also a requirement to display the corresponding logo's used, e.g. NVIDIA, Gamespy, ect. The logo's must remain unaltered but placement and scale may vary.
