Troy : Total War (TTW) is a mod for Rome Total War Barbarian Invasion based on the trojan war.

The mod was started during the late spring and early summer of 2005, although work on the mod didn't really start until late summer 2005. The beta of the mod was released in summer 2006 and has spawned several releases including the gold edition of the beta, two patches and a 'completed' version 4.0 . The final version (v4.0) was released at 12am GMT on Monday the 12th of February 2007 and is available for download.

The mod has had a difficult life with team members quitting, civil wars within the development team and sabotage attempts, but three key memebers (Zhuge_Liang, Zenith Darksea and Marcvs Trainvs) helped see the mod through to completion with sporadic help from other TWC members. Since release TTW has generated a small cult following even resulting in the creation of a fan site. The mod has enjoyed many thousands of downloads although an exact figure is not known. It is one of only a few Rome Total War mods to reach completion.

The mod leader is Zhuge_Liang at the Total War Center.

TTW was also the first mod to make successful use of video trailers making a total of three, each having great success in terms of popularity and downloads. The mod is now based in a subforum at the Total War Center which can be found here

Aristeia: Total War

Zhuge Liang and Zenith Darksea have since teamed-up again to produce another mod based on the trojan war era called ARISTEIA. This mod requires RTW - Alexander and had single soldier units along with many unique heroes for each faction. Rather than taking inspiration from the movie 'troy' or historical documents, aristeia is a mythical and stylised representation of the Iliad and Odyssey. The mod boasts the best graphics of any RTW engine based modification, was released in Feb 2010 in beta stage and followed up with a v1.1 release on the 24th April 2010. The reception to Aristeia has been incredibly positive and the mod is highly critically acclaimed.

The mod is based on their TWC forums located [here].
