Papal Standing Screen

Overview

The Pope is the leader of the Papal States faction in the game Medieval 2: Total War. Unlike other factions in the game, the Papal States bear a closer similarity with the non-playable Senate faction from Rome: Total War.

A factions level of popularity with the pope is shown by the number of crosses it has in the Papal Standing screen (see picture).

This level of popularity or standing will decrease if a faction disobeys or fails missions, if it declares war and remains at war with other Catholic factions, or if it's regions have too high a level of heresy.
