Shogun 2: Rise of the Samurai is a downloadable content expansion for Total War: Shogun 2, concentrating on the beginning of the Samurai period in feudal Japan.

Overview

The Rise of the Samurai campaign is set 400 years before the original Shogun 2 campaign. It focuses on the Genpei War. The base game Total War: Shogun 2 is required to play the expansion.

Features

The Rise of the Samurai pack adds;

  • 16 new land units including swordsmen, spearmen, archers, and cavalry types.
  • 4 new Hero units.
  • 10 new naval units.
  • 3 new naval special abilities.
  • 4 new agent types with their own unique skill trees
  • 1 new historical battle - Anegawa (1570).
