United States is one of the playable factions in Empire: Total War and is available through completing the Road to Independence.
Overview
The United States is a nation that broke away from the British Empire in 1783 because of the high taxes that the British were putting on them because of the damage of te Frech and Indian War. They also decided to revolt because the Thirteen Colonies were the ones that took the damage from the French in the French and Indian War. It has good relations with France, Spain, and the United Provinces from the American Revolutionary War. They expanded by taking the native nations such as the Cherokee Nations and the Iroquois Confederacy. They also expanded by buying territories from Spain and France. In the War of 1812 they attempted to take out the British merchant ships stopping trade between France and the United States. They also attempted to take some British-Canadian territories and they had to break their truce with the Eastern Woodland natives and declared war on them (such as Tecumseh).
Starting Positions
The United States start with Georgia, Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Confederation of New England, and Maine.
Units
They have practically the same units as the British, repectfully, but have a special militia called the Minutemen that are bad at melee range but are good at firing range.
