Arming the people is something that leaders find detestable and frightening, necessary perhaps, but certainly unwelcome.
Overview
These people are the common populace with whatever dangerous weapons they can obtain by fair means or foul. If a leader has reached the point of asking his people to act as this kind of militia, things are indeed desperate! If the governed have reached this point on their own, then matters are truly desperate for their leaders!
Details
Bhumiya Bowmen are a mob unit available only to the Eastern Factions. As a unit they are fairly unremarkable and will likely rout if engaged in melee or they lose to many men. However they are fairly accurate with their bows, for a mob unit, and can cause some damage to enemy infantry. As with most skirmishing units they should avoid melee at all costs, especially with cavalry as they will be run down easily. Bhumiya Bowmen will become available during a siege of a settlement, and the number of them will result from the public happiness of the population. Faction capitals tend to have a large number of Mob units.
