User Pages

HI Makanyane, it has come to my notice that users are posting new pages for links to their TWC profiles, there are User pages to place personal pages, as you well know, what can I/we/ moderators do about this?

Also is there a link to the current moderators? Thanks! Magnus 11:30, 20 September 2007 (CDT)

As the Wiki is partly about the TWC website and its users there are a lot of articles which are about the users of the forum - in some but not all cases users have the same username on both forum and wiki. There can be an article page made about any forum user involved with the TW games on TWC, Org or other sites. The article pages are legitimate and should show the forum users history and be titled with their forum username see for instance Shigawire which is a fairly basic page about a modder who is not a wiki user, having a link to the persons forum profiles also seems useful in this context (if for instance you wanted to contact a modder about their mod which is mentioned here).
An article page about someone should be factual, in the context of what is known about that forum user. If someone is a wiki user they can have both an article about their forum persona, and also a wiki user page, the wiki user page would be expected to have more latitude in terms of what can be posted there. However the user can if they wish divert the user page to their article if they have an appropriate one.
did any of that make sense? If not Scorch is the current wiki-editor, and there is an on forum disscussion area here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=489 (I did try getting a discussion area going in TWC_Wiki:Pub but most users are forum based so that didn't really take off) -Makanyane 12:42, 20 September 2007 (CDT)
What you are saying makes perfect sense but is it not what User pages are for? I do not wish to make this into something it isn't so sorry if it seems I am trying to stir up an argument. Magnus 12:55, 20 September 2007 (CDT)
Yes, I am just going on Wikipedia's policy of "a page created by user about or concerning a user is forbidden" OWTTE. Therefore ~The Doctor~ would not be allowed as it is clearly made by BLB about himself/ his profile [1]. I appreciate you getting back to me so quick and thankyou about the info on Scorch I will take it up with that user as you are not a moderator (no offence, I just dont want you bogged down in something which does not concern you). Nah that still sounded derogotory. Regards Magnus 13:10, 20 September 2007 (CDT)
