The Total War Series has a strong modding community, especially for the early games, due to the mainly easy-to-edit files and the popularity of the games. However, some features of the Total War games are hardcoded, which reduces the modability of the games. Later games may require specific tools that are released by Creative Assembly to edit certain features.

Each of the Total War series games requires slightly different modding procedures, and allows different modding possibilities. Please refer to the modding section for the game that you are using:
