Contents
Introduction
Medieval: Wrath of the Norsemen is a mod in development for Medieval 2 which is set in the Viking era. It brings a large span of Europe into the Viking's wrath and takes the most exciting and blood-thirsty era of history and throws it into the new Total War engine, with the campaign map being focused on Europe. Inspired by the song 'Thousand Years Opression' by Amon Amarth. The link to the forums is at the bottom of the page.
Overview
The mod will take place from 785-1050 AD and will cover the affairs of the Viking raids on most of Europe (map cutting off right before the Iberian Peninsula). Wrath of the Norsemen takes the most dynamic, fun and bloodthirsty era into the brand new Total War game.
New Gameplay
-Ships will be able to raid up rivers
-All new factions
-Increased movements for ships, agents and units
-Stronger Rebels
-New formations (With DarthMod also implemented, thanks to Darth Vader)
-All new units
-Bigmap and more provinces
History
4th January 2007 The mod is founded by tnick777.
25th March, 2007 The project is voted "Most Promising Mod for M2TW" in the TWC Modding Awards in early 2007.
20th May, 2007 Raven Darkwing is voted project leader with 18 votes versus 0. Tnick777 is removed as moderator, yet he is still to be given credit as founder.
8th July, 2007 First internal alpha is released.
25th September, 2007 The first grand preview is finished and published.
February 10, 2008 The 1st monthly preview is released to the public, begining the first of the 3 monthly previews.
March 30, 2008 The 2nd monthly preview is released to the public.
May 01, 2008 The 3nd monthly preview is released to the public, ending the last of the monthly previews.
September - October, 2008 Wrath of the Norsemen is officaly dead.
November 29, 2008 The mod is officaly reborn and progress begins once more. Forgotten One becomes the new mod leader.
January 01, 2009 5th preview released, being the largest so far.
