For King or Country is a mod about the English Civil War, it is a full conversion modification for Medieval II: Total War, contained within its own mod folder and with an automated installer.

There are two factions; the Parliamentarians and the Royalists. The map is detailed and accurate for the time period. Each regiment has it's own banner, coat colour and commander.

The purpose of the mod is to simulate the first English civil war. The main aim is to accurately represent the two main factions, their leaders, their commanders and their armies. The mod aims to provide a unique battlefield experience by representing 17th century warfare, something that no M2:TW mod team has so far achieved.

The campaign map is unique in that rather than having 'regions' or 'provinces' there are historically accurate counties. Each county has a single settlement. Faction generals are accurately placed according to their historical location in 1642 and represented with custom portraits and regiments. ...Continue Reading

First Ingame Footage of Empire: Total War

It's probably worth noting today that IGN released what is, to my knowledge, the first ingame footage of Empire: Total War available on the internets. Specifically it shows us some footage of the naval aspect of the game... boats for the most part, and all things that would naturally entail.

Unfortunately as far as I know there is no official press release to go along with this, so I haven't got much else to fill this rather large space on the front page with. I suppose some pictures or something will do.

Watch the video Here

Also, buzz has it that Sega have a new Empire website; be sure to visit it at http://www.sega.com/empire/ for some new screenshots, and other videos when they're released.
