Portugal is one of the factions in Medieval II: Total War that can be unlocked by either eliminating them during a campaign or by meeting the victory conditions. They can also be made playable via modding. For obvious reasons they start the game adjacent to Spain and the Moors on the Iberian Peninsula, possessing Lisbon and Pamplona.

Starting Position

Portugal's Starting Position.

They start separated one from the East side and the other from the South West side of the Iberian Peninsula.

Their settlements are;

  • Lisbon: Capital - Large Town
  • Pamplona: Castle

Campaign objectives

  • Long campaign: Hold 45 regions including: Jerusalem and Constantinople
  • Short campaign: Hold 15 regions including: Eliminate Spain and Moors.
