Overview

A sling is a deceptively simple weapon: a slinger can bring down the strongest man with a single shot. These slingers can send a hail of bullets towards the enemy, and target their shots for maximum damage. After all, they will have been hunting with slings since boyhood. Slingers should not be allowed to get into melee combat, as their lack of armour and their relative lack of equipment - just a knife or short sword and a shield - will soon lead to them being cut to pieces. Used to kill enemies from a distance, they are superb missile warriors.

Details

Slingers are common to factions that don't have good (or any) archers. They have inferior range and damage and do very poorly against armored opponents. Slings cannot arc their shots so they are very poor at firing over the heads of friendly units. Use slingers at the front of your lines if possible.

Because of their short range slingers need to close on archers as soon as possible so they don't eat too many vollies before they can fire back.

Slingers are better at melee than basic archers as they have slightly better stats and a shield which archers do not posses.
